THE BRIAN SWADLING CUP
The Committee has for some time discussed incorporating a 2BBB Knockout competition to be run in conjunction with our existing calendar. At our January meeting it was agreed to run a competition this year and the details are outlined below.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
The knockout is open to all members of the club and will be conducted under our usual rules in teams of 2 players over four rounds commencing on March 18th at Hunter Valley Golf Club which will be the qualifying round and concluding with the final on the 27th May at Newcastle. MEMBERS WILL PICK THEIR OWN PARTNERS. Participation is not compulsory and those wishing to enter must understand that both members (if they qualify) must be able to play the final 3 rounds as substitutes will not be allowed.
QUALIFYING ROUND.
Those teams wishing to enter the competition will nominate prior to the March 18th game and the top 8 teams will qualify for the 2nd round at Hawks Nest. Those players not wishing to participate in the knockout will select their own partners for the day’s competition. Players not already paired will be allocated by the committee.
FIRST ROUND – HAWKS NEST
A draw will be done by the committee and the 8 qualified teams will be allocated matches with the four winning teams progressing to the 2nd round with the 2 winning teams playing the final at Newcastle.
CHANGE TO CALENDAR
The Hawks Nest game was listed as a 2 person ambrose and this will now be substituted for Belmont to enable all members to participate in our normal competition.
